OUR VISION
Salem Biblical Garden was established in 2011 on a farm on the slopes of the Paarl Mountain in the Windmeul valley, Agter Paarl. The natural fynbos, 100 hundred year old wild olive trees and granite rocks, closely resemble parts of Israel. A path meanders through the natural vegetation where visitors can book a guided tour to see a number of artworks, sculptures, exhibits and mosaics that depict the major themes of the Bible. Visitors are invited to “Journey through the Bible”, starting with depictions from the book of Genesis and ends with the expected return of Messiah at the end of the Age. It is hoped that many people will visit the Garden and be inspired by the Word of God, enriching and building their faith in the Triune God of the Bible.
OUR MISSION
Through work and social pressure, there appears to be a general regression in people’s knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Salem seeks to address this need by sharing Bible truths in a non-threatening, open-minded approach. Salem is interdenominational and approaches the Bible from a literal point of view, except where the text makes it clear that it should be interpreted in a spiritual or allegorical sense.
Touring in the Holy Land is a visual experience. Salem uses artwork and exhibits to give the visitor a visual interpretation of the main events in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Our staff take churches, youth, and family groups on a guided tour to connect the dots between the Old and New Testaments, to portray God’s plans and purposes for mankind.
Visitors describe the tour as encouraging, uplifting and inspiring them to undertake a deeper study of the Bible. Past visitors will soon be able to participate in online teachings about Bible truths from a historical, archaeological, cultural and theological perspective. Please contact us if you are interested.
DONATIONS
Salem Biblical Garden’s objective is to encourage, enlighten and invite Believers and Seekers to enter into a closer personal relationship with the God of the Bible, to understand the Redemption Plan for man-kind through His Son, Jesus Christ, and recognise the assistance of the Holy Spirit.
Our “Journey through the Bible” tours, events, theatrical plays and Bible education rely on generous donations from people who support our cause and want to share in the building of the Kingdom of God in these last days. A few thousand people, including many children, visit Salem annually. We would like to see this number substantially increase.
Donations to sustain and expand our work will be a greatly appreciated. Financial contributions can be made via:
Salem Voluntary Association, Absa Bank, Acc. no. 9270669742. Branch Code: 632005.
Please contact our office if you want to make donations in kind, such as plants, trees, shade cloth and benches.
Should you or your church want to personally get involved with our mission by volunteering or the like, please give us a call.
